Water Pump Repair

Do you plan to partner (short-term or long-term) with people living off the beaten path in areas dependent on water pumps? Join us to learn how to install and troubleshoot pumps in a hands-on environment!

 

Course Overview

In this course, students will learn how to select, use, repair and maintain hand pumps, electric pumps and ram pumps most commonly found in remote villages. This is must-have training for anyone living or working in an area dependent upon water pumps.

When you finish this course, you can walk away with:

  • Knowledge of pump systems and mechanics.

  • The ability to select a good water pump and operate it safely.

  • Proficiency in water testing and evaluating water quality.

  • Exposure to case studies.

  • Hands-on experience with installation, troubleshooting, and repair of hand pumps, electric pumps and ram pumps.

The course starts on Sunday evening at 5:00pm.

Meet Our Instructor

Kieth Larrimore serves as the Appropriate Technology Coordinator. He teaches water filtration, well drilling and food production. Kieth earned a BS in Industrial Management Technologies at South Eastern Louisiana University. It was there he met his wife Kathy who graduated with a degree in Fine Arts. The Larrimores served as missionaries for a year in Nicaragua and have served on the Equip staff since 1999.
